I had this problem today, I fixed it without uninstalling anything. By going to the referenced install file path, into "EA Desktop" which was empty.
I've had this happen at least 3 or 4 different times within the last 3 months. I just use the EA App installer to repair the program... and then wait for it to happen again. It's dumb that it even happens. It's pretty irritating, to put it lightly. Origin wasn't the best, but I don't recall it ever ...

This could also be an error in the system registry, so make sure to scan your registry a couple of times with any app of your choice.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. It seems that the eaapp executable and uninstaller is missing in the EA Desktop folder. I guarantee I havent deleted it and I have no viruses on my computer. Have you found a solution for this??
